Andrew Baker creates his images using a Tachihara Large-Format View Camera to
expose 4" x 5" Fujichrome film. This large-format film allows for huge reproductions
to be made without much loss of detail - Baker's Limited Edition prints are available
in sizes up to 48x60 inches, that is 4x5 feet!
Once precisely exposed and processed, the film is then scanned using super-high
resolution methods and archived for future use. Baker then works the new digital file
in Photoshop, much like it would have been manipulated in the traditional dark room -
the image is color-balanced, contrast-controlled, dodged and burned to exacting
specifications.
The Limited Edition FujiFlex prints are exposed via a laser-output device and
chemically processed. The final print is mounted to Acrylic (plexiglass) for an
amazingly smooth, glassy finish and then Double-matted for display (framing optional).
