        After the Eruption

A frigid February morning with awesome light
unfolded before a friend and I.  The light moved
down the mountains, making them glow.  Sunset
Crater was the most recent volcanic eruption in the
area, this happened in 1064 A.D.  Cinders
covered the entire region, which prompted ancient
farmers to move into the adjacent fields.  Mt. Elden
can be seen in the very background.
