Spirit of the Sunrise
Lomaki Ruin has been a well photographed site for
many years. I first made this composition on the
Summer Solstice a few years ago. I knew I wanted
the warm sunrise light for this shot, but on the
Solstice the northern proximity of the sun cast a
disturbing shadow of my camera and tripod right in
the ruin's door. I came back several times and was
finally satisfied this late autumn morning.
